Sony Pictures has released the trailer for "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey," a romance film starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. The romance-fantasy film, directed by Kogonada, is "an imaginative tale of two strangers," per the official logline. The cast also includes Jodie Turner-Smith, Lily Rabe, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Hamish Linklater. More from Variety DC's 'Sgt. Rock' From DC and Luca Guadagnino Kogonada previously directed the sci-fi family drama "After Yang," which starred Farrell and Turner-Smith, as well as 2017's "Columbus." He also directed the Apple TV+ series "Pachinko." Seth Reiss, known for "The Menu," wrote the script. Farrell toldColliderthat the film is "kind of a love story, but it's not a very typical one. It's definitely magical realism. It's grounded in a world that we recognize, but it also is removed enough into the world of fantastical that it goes into these kinds of whimsical places." "It's a story about being revisited by, but also having the opportunity to revisit certain moments in your past that were very formative," Farrell added. Executive producers include Ori Eisen, Gino Falsetto, Ilene Feldman, Kogonada and Paul Mezey. Dan Friedkin, Ryan Friedkin, Youree Henley, Reiss and Bradley Thomas serve as producers. Noah Simon is an associate producer. "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey" marks Robbie's first film role since she starred in the blockbuster hit "Barbie" in 2023. Since then, she's produced Emerald Fennell's "Saltburn," Megan Park's "My Old Ass" and Jimmy Warden's 2025 thriller "Borderline." Robbie will reunite with Fennell in her adaptation of "Wuthering Heights" in 2026, co-starring "Euphoria" star Jacob Elordi. Farrell most recently won a SAG Award this year for his performance as Oz Cobb in the HBO series "The Penguin." "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey" hits theaters Sept. 19. Watch the trailer below.
