"People ask me and I'm trying to figure out new ways to be like, 'I don't know. I hope so. We'll see. I'm so excited. I hope so," Ritter continued. "All that's true," she added, only to reveal that she knew more than she was letting on to her fans. Deadlinereportedon May 13 that Ritter would be reprising her role of Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 ofDaredevil: Born Again. It was not until that recentBingeworthypodcast interview about her upcoming co-star role inDexter: Resurrections, however, that Ritter let slip that the big surprise for fans was one she had known for almost two years. "I've also known for so long, and keeping it a secret has been torture," Ritter said in the same podcast. Her return, she said, had been talked about with Marvel in some capacity "for a long time." She admitted to learning how to evade questions about a return, determined to keep the secret for her fans. Ritter described her return to the character and her first days on set as "celebratory". "It felt crazy," she said, "like no time had passed." The real hero according to Ritter, though, is Jessica's fans. "I really believe I'm back because the fans have been so vocal about Jessica and feeling so passionate about her. And I am so thrilled to be back in these iconic boots."
