The Secret Lives of Mormon Wivesstar, 33, shared two posts on her Instagram Stories opening up about the scrutiny on her appearance that's come with being on reality TV. "Just a gentle reminder that it's never ok to comment on a woman's post, 'You're looking more transgender by the day,' or 'Your features are so masculine,' " she began. "Most of the time these comments don't get to me, but I'm feeling very emo today and want to never post again so thank you trolls." In a follow-up, Jessi continued, "I have a defined jaw line because of a TMJ surgery I got, and I swear it's the number one thing that people tell me makes me look like a man. Sorry Karen, I can't control that?! I also get roasted for getting plastic surgery done but then get endless comments about my looks that make me more insecure so you can never win." Jessi Ngatikaura/Instagram In a video further discussing the topic later, Jessi explained she's currently "very emotional" and working on things in therapy. "I've been doing a lot of trauma work to unpack childhood issues and other things I've been going through, and a lot things that are coming up are that I've always felt not good enough. And I feel like maybe I'm hypersensitive to it, but I do feel like out of all the girls on the cast, I get the most hate for my looks." "It's because everyone else is so beautiful, but I feel like I get the most criticism for it. I look old. I look like a man. It's always something," she levels. Jessi Ngatikaura/Instagram "So I just feel like I'm hypersensitive to it because I do compare myself to the other girls and I'm trying to work through trauma of not feeling good enough and clearly, I have insecurities." Jessi urged people to be nicer online, adding, "You never know what people are going through and it ruins someone's day. Don't do that." Prior to season 2 of the reality series, Jessi took to Instagram totalk about her Weir excision— a procedure that reduces the width of a person's nostrils — and how her time on the show affected her decision to have the surgery. "I'm not ashamed to admit that because I'm human," she wrote on Instagram Stories when asked if filming the hit Hulu series made her more insecure about her appearance. "People have been awful about my looks & it definitely affected my confidence. But I also had insecurities before that I wanted to tweak so I took care of them!"
