After meeting in New York as teenagers in 1966, the two tied the knot on June 4, 1970 and later welcoming their two daughtersJennifer and Lindsaywho have made them grandparents four times over. "We laugh, we joke, we still learn from each other," Billy toldKelly Clarksonon her show just before the couple's 51st wedding anniversary. "We still love being together ... We just have so much fun and keep discovering new things about each other. And I think that's the most important thing is to still always be curious and find out more about each other." They also have shared some tough times together, as when their home burned down in the Palisades fires in January. "We will bemarried 55 yearsin June, we've been through all kinds of hard things, but this is the most difficult thing you could possibly imagine," Crystal told PEOPLE of their home, which he'd previously said in a statement "was filled with love". "We're doing okay, because we have great family support, our daughters have been magnificent, and every day you inch forward." In celebration of the couple's 55th wedding anniversary, here's a look back at the first few decades of their longtime love.
