The 47-year-old actress met the 46-year-old actor on the set ofOnce Upon a Timein 2011. Their romance started on the screen as they played Snow White and Prince Charming. However, their on-screen chemistry spilled over into real life, and they went public as a couple the following year. Goodwin and Dallas exchanged vows in 2014 and are proud parents to sons Oliver Finlay and Hugo Wilson. Jack Rowandl/ABC/Getty While attending the World Princess Week Celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., Goodwin spoke to PEOPLE about the moment she realized that she was "totally gonna marry" Dallas. "I knew I was gonna marry my husband when we were on Big Thunder Mountain, and he had never been to the park before. He'd never been to Disneyland [Resort], and he threw his arms in the air and he said, 'This is the best day of my life,' " she recalls. Goodwin continues, explaining that her response was, "And I was like, I'm totally gonna marry that guy." Goodwin cohosted an event during the celebration withSusan Egan, who voiced Meg inHerculesand originated the role of Belle in the Broadway adaptation ofBeauty and the Beast. The Little MermaidactressJodi Benson,The Princess and the Frog'sAnika Noni Rose,MoanastarAuli'i CravalhoandBeauty and the BeastactressPaige O'Harawere also present. During the event, the iconic princesses each performed a song associated with their characters — Ariel, Tiana, Moana and Belle, respectively. Speaking to PEOPLE, Goodwin reflects on her ties to Snow White, saying that it was always a dream of hers to play the iconic character. "I'm here because I'm a super fan because I grew up obsessed with these princesses and these actresses specifically," she says. "When I became an actress — I started working in about 2001 — and I used to ask to be taken into general meetings at Disney Animation specifically," theBig Lovestar shares. "And I would just beg for work because I just desperately wanted to be in this Disney princess world and went to auditions that it finally worked out." Goodwin describes Snow White as her "first princess." "She was the princess that I thought, yeah, she was brunette. I was brunette. That's about as far as it goes..." she says, explaining, "At least when I was that young, that's how I related to her." The star continues, "And then as I got older, I feel like this new love for the princesses was born actually through bothLittle MermaidandBeauty and the Beast. So getting to work with these actresses is like blowing my mind." "We were telling so much of the story of her like strength and resilience and development off page," she says. "That was the brilliance of that show and the writers." "It was really showing you you can still have the story and still like glean from it all of these like modern day qualities that, I mean, I would love for these princesses to influence my little boys as they're growing up and little girls everywhere and I just think that it's the perfect example," Goodwin continues.
