TV's biggest night is just around the corner with the77th Emmy Awardsscheduled to take place next month in Los Angeles. Nominations for this year's awardswere announced on July 14 during a live ceremony hosted by Harvey Guillén, Brenda Song and Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego. Leading the pack with themost mentionsis Apple TV+'s drama "Severance," with an impressive 27 nods, followed by HBO Max's "The Penguin," with 24. HBO's "The White Lotus" tied for third place with 23 honors, while the network's "The Last of Us" earned 16 nominations. Apple TV+'s "The Studio" also tied the record set in 2024 by "The Bear" for most nominations for a comedy series. The eligibility dates for the 2024 Emmy Awards apply to shows that aired between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025. Only shows that aired in those 12 months were nominated.
